Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the moving and packing services provided by Moving Day Moving ("we", "us", "the Company") to our customers ("you", "the Customer"). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

• "Services" means all moving, packing, loading, unloading, and transportation services provided by Moving Day Moving.
• "Move Date" means the date on which Services are scheduled to be performed.
• "Goods" means all items, furniture, boxes, and personal property transported under this agreement.

2. Booking & Deposits

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a signed quote and, where applicable, a deposit as specified in your quote. Deposits are applied toward your total invoice. All quotes are estimates based on information provided at the time of booking. Final pricing may vary if the actual scope of the move differs materially from the original description.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the Move Date are eligible for a full refund of any deposit.
• Cancellations made within 72 hours of the Move Date may forfeit the deposit.
• Rescheduling requests made more than 48 hours in advance will be accommodated at no charge, subject to availability.
• Moving Day Moving reserves the right to reschedule in the event of severe weather, equipment failure, or other circumstances beyond our control. We will provide as much advance notice as possible.

4. Rates & Payment

Services are billed at the rates agreed upon in your written quote. Payment is due in full upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, e-transfer, and major credit cards. A late payment fee of 2% per month may be applied to outstanding balances after 15 days.

5. Customer Responsibilities

• You must ensure adequate parking and access at both the origin and destination addresses.
• All items must be ready for loading at the agreed start time. Waiting time caused by Customer unreadiness may be charged at the hourly rate.
• You are responsible for informing us of any fragile, high-value, or specialty items prior to the move date.
• Items prohibited by law (hazardous materials, flammables, explosives, firearms) will not be transported.

6. Liability & Valuation of Goods

Moving Day Moving carries standard moving liability coverage. Our liability for loss or damage to Goods is limited to $0.60 per pound per article unless you declare a higher value in writing prior to the move and pay the applicable valuation charge.

We are not liable for damage to items that were packed by the Customer, pre-existing damage, or damage resulting from inherent defects in the items themselves. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by acts of God, extreme weather, or events outside our reasonable control.

7. Claims

Any claims for loss or damage must be reported in writing within 5 business days of the completion of your move. Claims submitted after this period may not be honoured. To submit a claim, contact us at info@mdmoving.ca with a description and photographs of the damage.

8. Force Majeure

Moving Day Moving shall not be held liable for delays or failure to perform Services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, government orders, or labour disruptions.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of the Province of Ontario.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any legal proceedings shall take place in Ontario.

11. Changes to These Terms

Moving Day Moving reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available at mdmoving.ca/termsandconditions.html.
